                          Même dans le désert

        Même dans le désert, nous t’aimerons toujours,

Même dans le désert, nous te chercherons toujours;

Est en train de nous échapper;

Nos frères et soeurs n’ont nulle part où aller;

Nous n’avons pas oublié les plans que tu as pour ce pays;

Dans ta Parole tu nous a promis le bonheur;

Notre terre, la RCA, t’appartient à toi;

Elle ne se séparera jamais de toi.

Manifeste ta Gloire au peuple de RCA.

Ils ont besoin de voir que Jésus est La Star;

Seigneur, nous savons que tu es le Dieu souverain;

Amen.

Even in the desert

  Even in the desert

 Even in the desert, we will always love you,

We will always look for you and seek you,

  For you are our shield and our rock;

At your door we will always knock.

CAR, the land that you gave us

is running away from us.

People coming from we don’t know where,

    are raping, killing and assaulting everywhere.

                                                                                                  Our brothers and sisters have nowhere to go;

                                                                                                   Your children holding on to you won’t let go.

                                                                                            Come to our rescue, Oh Lord, because we need you.

                                                                                              Desperately, we cry out to you.

                                                                                              If we have sinned against you,

                                                                                              Open our hearts so we repent before you.

                                                                                            Your people need your Holy Spirit,

                                                                                            So they can change their bad habits.

                                                                                           Jesus, our King, give us your wisdom,

                                                                                             So our actions bring us closer to your Kingdom.

                                                                                          We did not forget the plans you have for this country;

                                                                                        We have kept them in our hearts secretly.

                                                                                        In your Word, you promised us to prosper,

                                                                                       Plans for good and not for disaster;

                                                                                       To give us a future and a hope.

                                                                                     What you have declared will never stop.

                                                                                    As we seek to act in your Spirit,

                                                                                  Let your Angels stop these bandits.

                                                                                CAR, our land, belongs to you.

                                                                                It will never depart from you.

                                                                               Show your Glory to the people of CAR;

                                                                               They need to see that Jesus IS The Star.

                                                                                It is now all about Your reputation;

                                                                               We have lifted up Your Name above our nation.

                                                                               Lord, we know you are the Sovereign God.

                                                                             You will always remain our God.

                                                                            Show us the way, Oh Lord!

                                                                          Even in the desert you remain our God of Love.

                                                                      In Jesus Christ, our Treasure;

                                                                      The One our hearts treasure.

                                                                Amen.

Early in the morning on April 16, Pastor Léonard Gonitoua, President of P.A.S. HOPFAN, informed us that his neighborhood was under fire as Seleka rebels were shooting all around. Boy Rabe is one of the most popular neighborhoods in Bangui, capital of the Central African Republic, and since the Seleka rebel coalition seized power on March 24, the area has been the stage of frequent fighting, looting and assault by Seleka elements.

On April 15, some of these rebels came to Pastor Gonitoua’s house and forced him out, as well as his wife, their children, and other Christian brothers and sisters who had taken refuge in his home. They asked the Pastor to show them where “the military” were hiding. He answered that he didn’t know about any military and that he was a Pastor. After a while, they took him in their car and drove throughout the neighborhood, taking other men from the area with them. On their way, these Seleka elements threatened and beat their prisoners, including the Pastor. At some point, one of them suggested that the Pastor be released, which they did and continued their way.

Once again, thanks to GOD’s power the Pastor’s life was saved, but we have no idea about the whereabouts of those who were taken with him.

After he went back home, the Pastor sent his wife and children in a safer place and decided to stay home alone. To date, the Pastor is one of the rare people who are staying in the area, which is completely surrounded by Seleka men who have continued to loot and kill innocent people.

Asked about his current feelings, the Pastor answered that he was in peace knowing that God is faithful. Yes, He is. And we should all remain in peace in every situation, especially during periods of trouble and persecution.

We continue to pray for peace in CAR knowing that the GOD of Armies is fighting for us and doing extraordinary things that we do not see yet.

God bless CAR and you all.

Shalom.

Sunday, April 14, 2013

The population of Boy Rabe, a popular neighborhood of Bangui, capital of the Central African Republic (CAR), was once again affected by the unlawful behavior of  Seleka elements on Sunday, April 14.

They went from house to house searching for new items to loot. Some of them visited the house of the President of P.A.S. HOPFAN and threatened him and his family with their weapons. Pastor Léonard Gonitoua tried to speak with them so that they could leave the place. They eventually took his television after shooting at his veranda and left. Thanks God, nobody was hurt. Nevertheless, the Seleka elements continued their way looting other private properties.

We continue to pray for the Lord to have mercy on the population of CAR and for His Holy Spirit to take the control of their hearts so that they overcome evil with good, as He commanded us in Romans 12:21. While some are getting angry and losing their temper in the face of this difficult situation, our reference remain the Word of GOD, the Bible. Our prayers, actions and service to the Lord and mankind remain and will remain focused on the Bible where we find answers to our questions.

As one may recall, on March 24, the Seleka rebel coalition seized Bangui, ousting President François Bozizé. On April 14, the self-proclaimed President and leader of Seleka, Michel Djotodia, was elected as President of CAR by the National Transitional Council.
